Superyacht 2025 events – moving on from the shows to the best ownership structuring
The 2025 superyacht show season delivered strong results across Europe and the United States, with all major events reporting high-quality attendance, solid deal activity, and clear trends toward sustainability, explorer-style vessels, and younger UHNW buyers entering the market.

The docks were buzzing with energy, introductions, and opportunities. We have a quick look below at what has been happening. But conversations only matter if we act quickly to turn those leads into ownership.
This is where we step in. At Rosemont Yacht Services, we support brokers and advisors to make sure momentum turns into closings, and we help owners make the right choice for the structure and put in place the best cost effective solutions to meet their specific needs:
  • Ownership structuring: the right flag, corporate structure, and financing solution, tailored to each client's use case and jurisdiction;
  • Tax & compliance: navigating the complexities of VAT, YET, Temporary Admission, and evolving EU regulations to ensure peace of mind and future-proof compliance;
  • Deal coordination: managing the process end-to-end with lawyers, lenders, insurers, and registries so that timelines stay on track and surprises are avoided;
  • Ongoing yacht administration: this not only involves putting in place the right corporate structuring, but organizing how the structure can be best administered on a day-to-day basis.
We expand below at the end of this article on what this involves in practice, and read our article here about what owners should look for from the TCSPs that will be involved in the yacht ownership structure. With offices in Monaco and Malta Rosemont Yacht Services really is well placed to assist.

Now is the time for new buyers, and even sellers, to seek the guidance of an experienced TCSP. As the yachting market remains active and increasingly complex, early structuring decisions are more critical than ever. Updates on Monaco, Cannes, Major U.S. Shows and METSTRADE
Monaco Yacht Show (MYS)
The Monaco Yacht Show again confirmed its position as the leading global superyacht showcase. Attendance remained around 30,000, with a slightly calmer ambience but a notably higher concentration of serious UHNW buyers. The 2025 Monaco Yacht Show alone featured 70 superyachts for sale with nearly $2.9 billion in combined asking price. The first day’s “VIP-only” format continued to attract active buyers and long-term project clients rather than general spectators.
Sustainability remained the defining theme. The Blue Wake initiative highlighted hydrogen concepts, alternative fuels, recyclable materials, and hybrid propulsion. Tech-integrated yachts, advanced design studios, and customisation workshops dominated visitor interest. Multiple shipyards reported firm new-build discussions and several signed brokerage deals, reinforcing Monaco’s role as the key meeting point for top-tier clientele and brokers.

Cannes Yachting Festival
Cannes maintained its reputation as Europe’s busiest in-water yacht show, attracting more than 50,000 visitors and over 600 exhibitors. Press commentary described the tone as “unexpectedly buoyant”, with stronger-than-forecast buyer activity and positive sentiment from shipyards.
Green innovation and hybrid systems were central, supported by the Festival’s Innovation Awards. Major builders such as Benetti and Sunreef highlighted hybrid propulsion options and large catamaran models, reflecting rising demand for 70–100ft leisure and adventure yachts. Cannes also drew a wider demographic than Monaco, including younger first-time buyers, Med-based charter clients, and a strong presence of international brokers.

Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS)
FLIBS delivered its usual scale, with around 100,000 attendees and more than 150 superyachts on display. The U.S. market showed stabilising but still robust demand: the fleet was “slightly smaller but younger”, with strong interest in hybrid propulsion, fuel-efficiency upgrades, and U.S.-optimised layouts.
Feedback noted mixed reactions to the repositioned Superyacht Village, which saw lower footfall, but overall sentiment remained positive. Exhibitors reported consistent enquiries from American UHNWIs, family offices, and charter clients, confirming FLIBS as the anchor show for the U.S. superyacht market.

Miami International Boat Show
Miami reported another record year, with over 1,000 exhibitors and nearly 100,000 attendees. The show combined a glamorous atmosphere with strong commercial results. The standout was BOLD, the 279-ft explorer yacht open only to VIP guests, emphasising the show’s appeal to high-net-worth international buyers.
Sustainability discussions, next-generation tech, and younger entrepreneurial visitors were particularly visible. The Windward VIP programme attracted UHNWIs, Latin American clients, and U.S. tech-sector buyers, while public areas drew a broader enthusiast audience.

METSTRADE (Amsterdam) - 2025 Edition
METSTRADE 2025 closed with strong reviews, marking one of its busiest editions. With around 20,000 professional visitors and more than 1,700 exhibitors from over 130 countries, the show reinforced its position as the world’s leading B2B marine equipment event. All halls at RAI Amsterdam were fully occupied, and superyacht-focused zones saw particularly heavy traffic from shipyards, technical managers, naval architects, and owners’ representatives.
Sustainability and innovation dominated the agenda. Exhibitors showcased next-generation hybrid and electric propulsion systems, advanced battery technologies, energy-efficiency solutions, and new sustainable composite materials. Alternative fuels, recyclable components, and circular-economy design approaches were heavily featured. Foiling technologies and performance-enhancing hydrodynamics, increasingly relevant to large yacht tenders and support vessels, were also major talking points.
The Superyacht Pavilion and the expanded refit and engineering areas received strong engagement from major yards in Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, and Turkey, reflecting continued investment in both new builds and refit capacity. Industry associations noted that the overall quality of visitors was exceptionally high, with decision-makers attending specifically to source technical solutions or develop new supply-chain partnerships.
Overall, METSTRADE 2025 was viewed as commercially successful, trend-setting, and highly relevant to the future of large yacht construction, refit, and sustainable marine technology.

Expanding on our summary above it is worth highlighting that role of the TCSP in Yacht Ownership Structures includes the following:
  • Ownership structuring; the right flag, corporate structure, and financing solution, tailored to each client's use case and jurisdiction. Using an experienced Trust and Corporate Service Provider (TCSP) like Rosemont Yacht Services ensures your yacht is held in the optimal structure. Forming a dedicated ownership company and choosing a favorable flag state (popular jurisdictions include Malta, the Cayman Islands, and Marshall Islands protects owners from liability and streamlines operations. This groundwork, laid even before you purchase, is crucial, the foundation of successful ownership is built long before the vessel sails. A well-structured ownership also boosts resale appeal, making your yacht more attractive to buyers and facilitating higher-value, smoother transactions.

  • Tax & compliance: navigating the complexities of VAT, YET, Temporary Admission, and evolving EU regulations to ensure peace of mind and future-proof compliance. In today’s regulatory environment, early planning is the only way to avoid costly surprises. Expert TCSP support helps navigate complex tax regimes, from EU VAT rules to schemes like the Yacht Engaged in Trade (YET) program that allows occasional charters without full commercial status. With proper structuring, owners avoid double taxation, unexpected VAT bills or even cruising restrictions that can arise from ad-hoc ownership setups. Rosemont’s specialists advise on the best jurisdictions and importation options (e.g. Temporary Admission), so you launch your ownership or sale with all paperwork in order and full peace of mind.

  • Ongoing Administration & Risk Management: A seasoned TCSP doesn’t just set up your structure, they stay by your side. Rosemont’s team provides continuous administration, ensuring your owning company stays compliant with changing laws and regulations. Industry forums at events like METSTRADE emphasize how evolving regulations and compliance are shaping the future of yachting. By entrusting ongoing corporate administration, statutory filings, and crew/company management to experts, you mitigate operational risks and can react quickly to new requirements. Professional oversight shields you from legal pitfalls and lets you focus on enjoying (or profitably chartering) your yacht, confident that all behind-the-scenes obligations are met.
